Musician Bio Sample
Garvey McGraw, Athens, GA Garvey McGraw began piano at the age of five, trading it for bass guitar at eight when he became immersed in metal. Playing quickly became his focus and he spent hours a day emulating instrumentals of his favorite players. He soon moved naturally toward and learned the most by composing originals. Instead of high school graduation, he drifted along the East Coast, couch surfing in the frigid Northeast, sleeping outside in the South. He gigged often and played non-stop. Over the next five years, Garvey would stay briefly in cities that lured him with a music scene or a young woman, but his bass was a constant. It was during a visit to Atlanta that Garvey met drummer Eric Lang. Eric and Aaron played with Garvey one Wednesday night. The chemistry was instant and unanimous. With this lineup, not only has the band established a fierce musical partnership, but Garvey has something approaching domestic stability: he now lives in a room in the band's rehearsal and recording warehouse where he has maximum freedom to experiment and compose. © Cesca Janece Waterfield Back
